about

As a Venezuelan-American, I was born a student of language and culture. I have been observing and participating in the second-language acquisition process for as long as I can remember. At a young age we learn that in order to communicate, we need to speak the language. But it wasn't until later that I realized in order to be truly proficient in a language, you have to understand the culture. This relationship between language and culture, this dance, is what I'm passionate about and what I love to share with others.

qualified instruction

In 2010 I was given my first job as an ESL teacher and I haven’t left the classroom since.

I was an elementary school teacher (PK-6) for 9 years. During that time I also taught English and Spanish as a second language to adults and professionals. In 2019, I began working full-time as a freelance language consultant.

With over eleven years of experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students of all ages, professions and cultural backgrounds. These experiences with diversity have challenged me to be innovative in meeting the needs of all students and language learners.
